This week on television

Finally! An episode of HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER that harkens back to the good ol' days of fun gimmicks and giving the cast something entertaining to do besides whining about whatever problems while ignoring that the name of the show is taking fifteen years to come to fruition. Just seeing Marshall running through NY while "Marshall Versus the Machines" plays as a folk ditty was worth it, with a second nod to the out-loud laughs from seeing Maury Povich in everyone's "race" to Gregor's.

And then, as if to top it in the "laugh out loud" department, last night's COMMUNITY was the funniest episode since their paintball war homage to 80s action flicks. Our study group went to space this time. Well, a simulator, I mean, one with Colonel Sanders as HAL and a lot of KFC references as the gang went through every space movie reference I could find, from "The Right Stuff" to "SpaceCamp" to "Apollo 13." Val almost lost a lung she was laughing so much, and we had to stop and rewind more than once to catch what we missed.

Meanwhile, on DANCING WITH THE STARS we had a bad situation for The Situation, who got the boot instead of Bristol Palin or Kurt Warner, the other two in the bottom three. They'll be out sooner than later. Jennifer Grey continued to have the time of her life, clearly the frontrunner this season.

If I had read your blog Saturday, rather than today, then I would have known you already watched the Community episode. Yep, easily the funniest episode this season, and I agree, second only to the Modern Warfare episode.

Oh, I don't know. I would put it third, behind Modern Warfare and last year's Christmas episode with Anthony Michael Hall.
