It's not Minneapolis Idol, thank goodness

The first two hours of American Idol on Tuesday did not inspire confidence that we'd be blown away this season.

Do you ever wonder if this show's fan base is made up mostly of shut-ins who just want to get outside, even though it makes them look foolish?

Our favorite? Rachel, the Army Reservist with a hubby in Iraq. She was sweet, cute, fun and had a decent voice, even if she has no chance to make the top 12.

The best singer, however, was Sarah Krueger, who sang "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" even better than 2006 runner-up Kat McPhee.

We missed the first few minutes tonight, but apparently that's a good thing because all that rain in Seattle makes the citizens angry, unattractive and tone deaf.

My favorites were the lady who sang the Shakira song & the one who claimed to have been a crack baby. :) Gabe enjoyed watching with us too!

Oh my, I can only imagine that he laughed at the term "crack baby," and I hope you didn't have to explain it!

Actually yeah he did how in the world did you know that? I'm not sure what was funny about it...but we explained it to a point..

I'm not surprised Gabe asked that either. The phrase does have the word "baby" in it...and "crack baby" just sounds funny no matter if you know what it is or not! :)

American Idol, Memphis version this week! This may be the one time I actually watch an entire episode of this show...

I'm betting Memphis has more than enough talent to impress the judges. The South always sends the best singers.
